MOOCs as training tools in Morocco: challenges and prospects

Abstract

This study examines the role of MOOCs as a training and professional development tools for future teachers in Morocco in a context where the education system is profoundly influenced by the digital transition. It highlights their various pedagogical and professional contributions while questioning their approach to including an axiological dimension in the development of teaching staff identity. By jointly examining the theoretical frameworks and educational policies in Morocco, we highlight the advantages offered by MOOCs in terms of flexibility and skills development. However, we also consider to be key, such as equity, certification recognition and constitutional consistency.
