Cameroon faces a growing terrorist threat, exacerbated by porous borders, the spread of radical ideas and cross-border incursions. This article analyses, from a psycho-sociological, geopolitical and strategic perspective, the dynamics that are fuelling the consolidation of terrorism in the country. It highlights the processes of radicalisation, driven by socio-economic, political and cultural factors, as well as the impact of the transnational circulation of extremist ideologies. Regional instability, particularly linked to crises in neighbouring countries, contributes to the expansion of terrorist networks, facilitated by weak territorial control and security measures. By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, the study offers an analysis of Cameroon’s contemporary security challenges and explores possible strategic responses to curb this phenomenon.
Keywords: Terrorism, radicalisation, borders, insecurity, Cameroon, strategy, geopolitics, social psychology.
