Our research focuses on the design of an embedded temperature control system for a portable medicine storage kit. The aim of this research is to develop an embedded computerised refrigeration and temperature control system capable of storing medicines requiring a specific ambient temperature in environments where a reliable electricity supply is not available, to create an embedded computer system capable of automatically regulating the temperature within a medicine storage kit for items such as vaccines, insulin and other medical products that must be stored at ambient temperature to prevent deterioration.
Temperature sensors, the cooling unit and the temperature controller will greatly assist in the realisation of this research, thanks to instant monitoring via the LCD screen on the kit, ensuring that the normal storage conditions for the product inside the kit are not exceeded. The advantage of this system is that it prevents shortages of certain medical products in areas without full electricity supply. Thanks to the Peltier module and the temperature sensor connected to a microcontroller, this system will enable automatic cooling and instantaneous control. The integration of C programming within the Arduino development environment, in conjunction with C#, will enable the microcontroller to be developed (coded).
